Tofu is a great source of soy protein, but soy is not nearly as good as
whey protein - so it is good for you (much better than say a chocolate
shake!) but not the #1 best.

I think Tofu is great! I get the firm one, drain it in paper towel, cut
into little cubes, put about a teaspoon of oil in the pain and fry them up.
I add soy sauce while they are frying and some garlic. There is so many
other good recipes with Tofu, and it has a decent amount of protein in it
and low calories.. I am 3 wks out and I think it is also soft enough to
chew very well..

Tofu is a good source of protein, though whey protein (such as whey protein
shakes) is better. There's some controversy over whether tofu interferes
with the proper functioning of the thyroid, but in moderate amounts, I
think it's a good protein alternative to add to your menu. Always check
the label, though, for the carb content -- I like certain tofu foods, but
often, I notice there are as many carb grams (or a little more) as there
are protein grams in some of the tofu dishes I like. But, variety's a good
thing. Enjoy!

Julian: I eat a tofu with eggplant in garlic sauce dish at least once a
week from Panda Express. It's yummy & high in protein. Obviously, if
you can make it yourself, it's just as yummy & at least you'll know
what's in it.
