Question:
Has anyone with a BMI of 42 or below had a VBG?
Would love to hear form patients with a pre-op BMI of 40 or below who have a VBG.I would also like to hear from persons who have had plastic surgery after their VBG. I would just like for someone to share their experiences with having a VBG. My scheduled surgery date is Oct. 22,2003!!! — Shannon T. (posted on September 19, 2003)

Shannon,
I had a BMI of 36 when I had VBG. I am a little over 3 months post op and
down 32 lbs. WHOOOO HOOOOO!!
I had severe reflux disease pre-op. IT IS GONE!! My cholesterol was 240
pre-op. IT IS NOW 120!! I had horrible fatigue pre-op. Now I am as hyper as
my kids (hehe)! WLS was the BEST thing that I ever did for myself!!
I still need to lose another 32 lbs to get to my goal, but I have no
doubt that I will obtain it!! Good luck on your surgery!! I can tell you
that I have NO regrets!!

I dont know what VBG stands for, but I had lap RNY, and my starting BMI was
41. Two months out, and down 45 pounds, it is at 37. It is going great for
me! Good Luck to you!
