Question:
Can anyone tell me if HEALTH NET-through Eastern Oregon Fast Freight covers WLS?
Do all of the Healthnet plans have exclusions? Thanks, Annie — annie W. (posted on August 28, 2003)

Hi Annie, I live in Pa and have HealthNet My Doctor made made have all
tests with all doctors first. And then sumited everything into HealthNet.
It took weeks for a approval, and within a month I had surgery. I;am 3
weeks post-op and 36lbs lighter. HealthNet acually was easy. Good Luck on
your NEW Journey!!! Christine :)

Annie, me again It took 2 weeks for a Approval! They seem to be very much
for this operation. (If medically needed), once again GOOD LUCK!!!!!

I live in Connecticut and have Health Net (Charter). I called HealthNet
prior to surgery to ask about their coverage for Gastric Bypass Surgery and
was told that if the doctor says that its medically necessary... they will
cover the surgery 100%. It took only a week or two for approval. However,
there are different policies within HealthNet... so keep that in mind.

Hi Annie,
I have Health Net HMO and after finally finding a DR. who is in favor of
this surgery, but I did !!! She submitted it in Feb. 2003 and was approved
in 9 days (2 long weekends included) and the great news is they pay 100%.
I understand they are getting more and more patients & Doctor's
requesting it and are trying to accommodate them, I was lucky with no other
problems other than massive heartburn, ugh!!!
So as far I know the answer is YES to Health Net HMO. But I do think alot
has to do with your Doctor.
Hope this helps and GOOD LUCK !!!!!
