Question:
Anyone with Preferred Care TriAdvantage been approved without having been on Meridia
Has anyone who has Preferred Care TriAdvantage been approved for surgery without your PCP having prescribed Meridia or Xenical or something equivalent to it? I am waiting for insurance approval and worried that I will be denied because I have never been put on Rx weight-loss meds. Any comments or advice is appreciated!! Thanks! — Margaret G. i dont have your insurance but I would hope that wouldnt prevent you from
getting approved. Those drugs can have serious side effects...i took merida
and my heart raced and if i waited a day to take it i got very ill (moody).
Insurance companies need to understand that not everyone can benefit from
those medications sometimes the cons FAR outway the pros...good luck to
you!! <3

I do not have your insurance, but if you don't take those meds it shouldn't
keep them from approving you. Many people can not take Meridia due to
potential adverse reactions like Blood Pressure Spikes (I am one). People
who already have irritable bowel syndrome can't take Xenical. An insurance
company can not require you to take a drug.
