Question:
Can someone help me with revisions?
I wrote this question before, but didn't see it posted, so I will try again. I had an open rny in Dec. of 2001, I lost about 100 pounds but after 8 months just stopped. Then I have begun to gain the last 8 months, about 30 pounds. My talked to my surgeon about this and he did an upper GI and a scope and said my pouch and stoma were about 4 times the desired amount. After a lot of discussion he indicated that it was probably due to the frequently vomiting I had the first 3 months (2 and 3 times a day). He suggested that the pouch was probably too small initially and the vomiting caused it and the stoma to stretch. Any way to my question - My insurance denied my request for revision, even after my surgeon wrote a letter. I need an help, suggestions and support that you all can give me on appealing this decision. Thanks in advance for your encouragement and any information you care to share. Diane — Diane W. If you haven't already, please sign up with the Yahoo group on
revisions--http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ossg-revision. You should find
plenty of advice there. Good luck.
