Question:
Under tongue?
I was wondering about the sublingual B12. It says that you have to stick it under your tongue. Can you instead suck on them like regular candy and would it work as well? — Angela S. (posted on August 15, 2003)

They should be placed under the tongue so that it can dissolve and be
absorbed into the blood vessels there. I don't think the blood vessels in
the other part of the mouth (tongue and roof/sides) are as near to the
surface, so the B-12 might not be absorbed there. I usually pop mine in
right before my shower every morning and by the time I get out, it gone.

In order for you to obsorb the B12 directly into your system you must put
it under you tongue. Like Nitro-glycerine tablets that heart patients
take. Because of our new pouch we now have mal- absorbtion issues. (Less
nutrients getting into our system like it used to.) It is very important to
take your B-12. B-12 affects your nerves, moods, the homo-cystein (sp) in
your blood. I would rather put a little tablet under my tongue than have to
worry about going to the Dr and getting a B-12 shot the rest of my life.
It is much cheaper to do the tablet verses shot too. Anyway, under the
tongue for better and faster obsorbtion.

I pop mine before I go to bed. Don't even feel it. :)

a sublingual b12 isn't anything you would be able to suck on, it's kind of
like a very very small (beebee size) chalky thing, when placed under your
tongue, it is gone in about 2 seconds. it does have to be under your
tongue for absorbtion purposes
