Hi, I started at 5'3" and 215. I had my surgery on February 10,2003.
So far, I've lost 65 pounds - leaving me 10 pounds away from the
nutritionist and my doctor's goal for me of 140. Personally, I think I
would like to go a little lower - maybe 130 - 135. I've been losing steady
with no major problems. I followed my nutritionist instructions very
strictly and am now eating a low fat yogurt with 1/3 c powdered milk for
breakfast, a 1/2 c cottage cheese with about a 1/4 of fruit for lunch and
about 3 ounces of some type of meat or cheese for dinner (usually chicken,
tuna or sometimes just a couple of slices of low fat cheese, depending on
my mood with about a 1/4 cup of vegetable or fruit again. I also have one
protein shake a day. I do have two cups of coffee with milk a day. I am
never hungry - can't say I have really been hungry since surgery. I know I
am one of the lucky ones. My nutritionist says I'm really slow - but it's
working for me. I can't say I do much exercising - walking a couple of
times a week is about it. I have noticed the weight loss slowing down this
month so it may be time to start trying to fit more exercise into my day.
But, so far, things are going well. I have developed an ulcer this month,
but it's under control with medication and hopefully will heal soon.
It's hard sometimes when people around me are eating food I used to love to
eat. But when I consider the option of dumping, I figure it's not worth it.
Also, I never want to go back to where I was before. I feel too good about
myself now and don't want to go back to that misery. Please feel free to
e-mail me if you have any more questions at [email protected].
Good luck and a world of success. You can do it.

Just so you have another set of stats, I am 5'7" and started at 260.
I'm 4 months post-op on August 1st and am down 70 pounds today. My meals
are a lot like the previous poster. I love life and would do it all over
again tomorrow. Best of luck!
