Question:
Failed VBG or other failed obesity surgeries to R-Y Gastric Bypass

Which of the following is untrue: The incidence of leaks is 10x higher; an increased hospital length of stay and additional expense may occur;stapling and suture techniques during surgery will absolutely, positively, prevent leaks; increased risk of pulmonary emboli and death; or potential for more screening during preoperative evaluations. Hi Shirley, Are you taking a quiz? My guess would be that "stapling and suture techniques during surgery will absolutely, positively, prevent leaks". It rarely happens, but even those with stapling AND sutures can have a leak.
