Question:
I am looking for a liquid protein that is concentrated , you can take 2 ounces or so.

I have been told there is a liquid protein out there (someplace) that is concentrated and you take 2 ounce for 20 grams..does anyone know of this?    — Kathi G. (posted on April 20, 2003)

I was really struggling with the protein shakes, yuck!! I called my dietitican and she told me to get some Proteinex. I had to special order from Walgreens. A 16oz bottle is $22. Each ounce = 15g of protein. I mix it with OJ or Crystal Lite - pink or reg lem and can hardly taste it. I get my liquids and proteins in at the same time. It has made life so much easier for me.

Another product is Amino Infusion 5000. It's 3 oz (30g), but the flavor is passable. It is a more complete protein than Proteinex, Cheramino (which I use) or Amino 2222. And it tastes pretty darned good in a little water over ice in a stem glass!

I currently use Amino 2222. 3 Tablespoons provides 22g of Protein. Although its Tropical Fruit flavored, I mix mine in a bit of Crystal Light (or water) to improve the tast. I purchased mine at GNC however I have seen several websites that carry Amino 2222. There is another liquid protein supplement carried by WLS Success called Nectar, from what I have read its not a "milkshake" version, which many people cannot tolerate it comes out like a juice. Hope this helps you out. You may also want to consult your doctor, or dietician for any help with this as they may be able to recommend some more products on the market.

Here's the link for Proteinex. I believe I had to call the 800 # posted on the web page in order to have a sample sent to me. http://www.llorenspharm.com/proteinex.htm
