Once I found out I could eat salads Ive started to eat them everyday and yes somtimes 2 times a day...I eat salad with everything..my reasons are because I cant stand other veggies so Its just a good way for me to get veggies in...but the carb things im not sure of...my nurtionist said not to worry about carbs just yet so...good luck! I eat salads all the time too. If you're just using typical salad ingredients carbs shouldn't be too much of a concern. Mine usually have at least a couple of kinds of lettuce, 2 or 3 cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices and deli meat. You can also do onions, bell peppers and other low-carb veggies. Do make sure you have protein in them like meat or cheese and stay away from the starchy carb stuff, like croutons.

YUMMY YUMMY! I eat 1-2 salads a day! Great way to get all your veggies and protein in. Chicken ceasar is one of my favorites. Don't worry about the carbs so much (except croutons) vegtables are so healthy for you! And the amounts we can consume in one sitting (unless you can eat a pound of carrots ;-) are not enough carbs to worry about. The benefits of veggies outweight the carbs in them. Now, croutons.....that's another story!! Renee D

Salads are wonderful! At 5 weeks post-op, I had my first salad, and I swear it was the best thing I had ever tasted...I still love salads and have them quite often for lunch with grilled chicken or steak, hard boiled egg, kidney beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, carrots, mushrooms and whatever else I can find! I still put way more on my plate than I can eat, though! Don't worry about the carbs-its good carbs. Its the bad carbs (white stuff) you need to avoid.
