Question:
Does anyone have a list of laproscopic surgeons in Michigan?

I had my open RNY done on November and have had wonderful success! (Down 60 lbs) My father is considering the procedure and has made an appointment with my surgeon for a consultation. He would also like to speak to a surgeon that uses the laproscopic technique. Any information on Doctor's names and the feelings about your Laproscopic procedure would be appreciated. As far as I know of, there are two docs that do Lap RNY in Michigan. They are Dr. Brian Lane @ BTC (Ypsi) and Dr. Donald Scholten in Grand Rapids. I hope that helps a little bit.

My Surgeon does lap, Dr. Kevin Krause at Beaumont in Royal Oak. Email me with any questions, he is wonderful!

Two doctors I know of are in Grand Rapids. They are Randall Baker and James Foote. I went to an orientation yesterday Jan 23 and found this out. I you have Medicare they insist on five years of documentation of obesity problems. There is also a out of pocket expense of about $1500.

I went to Dr. Foote in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He and his partner Dr. Baker do the lap rny. They are both very good surgeons. I was very happy with Dr. Foote and the office. The orientation is free but I had a total of about $1,ooo out of pocket costs. They require you to be on their protein supplements two weeks prior and 4 weeks after surgery. That was the majority of the out of pocket cost.
