Question:
Any recent info on Dr. Ostroff at UCSF?

Hello. I just found out that my consultation for the surgery was approved by Healthnet, but not to the local surgeon but to Dr. Ostroff at UCSF. I have heard mixed things about him. I've checked the Q&A and see that he and Dr. Patti do Lap procedures, and see some info in the patient forum, but no recent info. I have heard that the wait is long and that they are difficult to deal with. I know about the UCSF 10% weight loss policy, but if that puts me below the 40 bmi, will I then NOT qualify for surgery? Dr.Ostroff does all the pre-op testing and stuff, and then he refers you to dr.patti, and dr.patti does the surgery. ~Amy
