Question:
I have checked a couple different stores and can't find sugar free Yogurt in AZ.

I was just recently diagnosed with Diabetes, so I wanted to get some sugar free yogurt. However after checking at a couple different Fry's locations, I have found that they do not carry it. Has anyone in AZ been able to find sugar free yogurt? If so, where the heck did you find it? :)    — Tammy O. (posted on October 17, 2002)

Yoplait Light is sweetened w/Aspartame. How about Dannon Fit, do none of the stores carry those brands?

There is no true sugar free yogurt since the fruit and milk have natural sugars. You just have to try to find the ones with the lowest sugar content. My favorite yogurt is Blue Bunny Lite 85 - it is sweetened with Splenda and is wonderful. It has about half the calories of the other yogurts. If there is a Wal Mart Super Center near you check there - that is where I get it even though my supermarkets carry it. It is much cheaper at Wal Mart.

I agree with the last post on the Blue Bunny. I got it at Walmart supercenter. Blue Bunny even has ice cream that is great, I got the information from a diabetic. Half a cup even has 3-4 grams of protein, made sweet with Splenda. Good luck.

Original poster here- thanks so much. I didn't realize that you couldn't get a "sugar free" yogurt since that is what I see most of the posters here talk about. I will try the ones that you both have suggested! Thank you so much! :)

Fred Meyer, Krogers, and QFC (hoping you have one of these chains in your area) carry a 'lite' yogurt that is sweetened with aspartame and has a really low carb count, it's like 9g of protein and 15g of carbs. This is regular live culture yogurt, not the frozen dessert variety. Good luck in your search.. ~peace!

To my knowledge, there's no such thing as sugar-free yogurt. All yogurt is going to have natural lactose, which is a sugar and is OK for RNY patients to eat. Regular yogurts add sugar or corn syrup, but the light ones usually use fructose (which is OK) and another artificial sweetener. Dannon Lite and Fit is phenomenal!

sugar-free yogurt is very easy to make and you can get some awesome recipes with easy instructions online. Put homemade sugar free yogurt into www.google.com 's search engine and have fun! So much cheaper to. I prefer using splenda to other artificial sweeteners and this way I can do just that :>)
