Question:
Lack of sufficient moisture since surg
I'm 7 mos post-op and have not only lost most of my sexual drive but have also become 'all dried up!' Sorry, to put it so bluntly. Does this go away? We are using other lubrications, but it isn't quite as fun- — Melanie E. (posted on October 15, 2002)

Melanie, our hormones get all messed for awhile after the surgery. Talk to
your GYN or PCP about getting youe hormone levels checked. Are you on HRT
or birth control?
Could be you need the dosage adjusted.

Just wanted to chime in and let you know that you are not alone. I am
dealing with the dryness and have irritation from being dry. I hope it
eventually gets better. I have been dealing with this since 5 months
post-op and I am now 11 months post-op. I am also at goal and was hoping
that since the weight loss is so very slow right now that my hormones would
get back in balance soon.

hiya. i agree with linda - get your hormones checked. my ob-gyn told me
that fat cells process natural estrogen so as you lose weight your body
doesn't produce as much, therefore you may need to go on hormones for a
while. (i had a hysterectomy so i take them anyway)
good luck!

I am also having that problem since 3 months post op. Then to make things
worse I started celexa and that of course has a sexual side effect. i have
been told that it will all come back, I will be glad when this part ends.
It makes that sex part a bit difficult to handle. I will have to try
lubricants that is one thing I have not tried.

I was having the same problem for months. It turned out I wasn't gettin in
enough fluids. I started forcing myself to drink more water and the
problem went away.
