Question:
Do we all have case workers? how long does a review take?(Cigna HMO)
I am fighting Cigna for approval (denied twice) and was wondering do I have a case worker? How do I find out who that person is? I called the member helpdesk (what a joke!) and asked about the status of my review but they cant tell me anything other than it may take 30 days for an answer. They have had my paperwork for over a week. How long will the review last? I'm getting antsy for an answer from those guys. Thanks for any help. — Siddy I. (posted on September 12, 2002)

Cigna is the absolute worst. I started my process in January 2002, got
denied in March 2002 and appealed. The denial was on the basis that I did
not have 12 weeks of physician supervised dieting in the last year. Well,
I was doing it at the same time and completed in the first week in April
and filed a Level 1 appeal. I got a letter on April 16 that I would hear
within 30 days. I called and kept calling. It took until the end of May
to get the approval, but it took a barrage of calls. Good Luck.
