Question:
Is any piercing
I have my eyebrow pierced and I am sure I won't be able to wear my gold hoop into surgery. Is there some kind of material such as plastic that I can use as a spacer during surgery so I don't have to worry about the hole closing or trying to get my hoop back in shortly after surgery? — Cherie S. To tell you how great BTC is.... I was worried about my eyebrow piercing
going closed if I forgot to put it back in right after surgery...SOOOO the
nurse assured me she would remember first thing and she actually put it
back in for me. Like they don't have enough to worry about or patients to
care for, she remembered to do it!! I wouldn't count on that happening,
but I couldn't resist sharing that story. Worst case scenerio, use fishing
line...it's stiff enough to stay steady going thru the hole and not metal.
Good luck to you!! Best wishes, Tonya

If you have had it for a while, it is likely it will not close. I had my
eyebrow pierced in 1997, and had it out for a couple days after surgery.
When I went to put it back in, it hadn't closed at all. I do remember when
I had to take my ring out for work, that I used a piece of clear guitar
string. My piercing is 18 gauge, and the G-string from a guitar was just
the right fit. I cut a small piece off and filed it until it was smooth on
one end so I could slide it through. Worked really well.

My friend had that problem when he worked as a waiter. he put fishing line
in to keep it from closing. works great.

I have my nose done. When I explained about the hole closing quickly, they
just tapped over it. I'm sure if you explain it, they will tape your
eyebrow as well...

Don't count on being able to tape it, make an alternative plan. Some
hospitals have strict policies against wearing jewelry of any kind. The
fishing line or guitar wire ideas are probably your best bet, just make
sure it's not a conductive material.

I have my upper carteledge pierced in both ears. I went to one of those
"all accessories" stores in the mall and they have little kid
earrings made entirely of plastic. I bought those and was fine. Another
suggestion, although not very attractive, is use those plastic things that
price tags for clothes come on. Just go to a clothing store and ask for
some and they should give ya a couple. You will have to cut off the
"T" bar end and run the piece through the piercing and tape it
flat to your skin.
