Question:
Anyone have reaction to liquid sublingual B-12?
I normally use GNC B-12 sublingual tablets, but I found a liquid B-12 and wanted to try it. I used it just like the directions said (One dropper full, hold under tongue for 30 seconds, then swallow). About 2 minutes later I had a horrible feeling in my stomach and felt nausaus(sp) then after a few minutes I started to get a rash. Almost my whole body was covered with this red rash that was hot and itchy. It went away about an hour or two later and now I feel fine. Obviously I am switching back to my GNC sublingual tablets but I am curious if this has happened to anyone else and why? — M. S. (posted on August 16, 2002)

I didn't have any nausea but since the first day I took it my throat has
been raw. Feels like a sore throat. Maybe I'm sick (which I rarely am).
Did you have anything like that with the liquid B-12?

I had the exact same thing...needless to say that was the last time I used
them...the drops went right in the trash.

What you experienced is a normal 'niacin flush', a reaction to the niacin
in the stuff. The rash will go away with routine use, and is self-limiting
and normal.
