Yogurt is good, just be sure to get one with as little sugar and fat as possible, and no chunks of fruit. Cottage cheese with some fruit or a tomato. And someting I had a hard time doing, step out of the breakfast mentality for breakfast. Most traditional breakfast foods we are used to eating (besides what you mentioned in your post) are no protien, and high fat and sugar. Try peanut butter on crackers or a PB&J. I dont really care for eggs either, but For 6 months I had half a fried egg sandwich with cheese for breakfast every morning. (yes, I am a sick pup) But food is food to me now, doesnt have to taste good or have variety anymore. Just look at all the high protien things you have and be creative.

I agree with thinking outside the box for breakfast. I have eaten half a healthy choice frozen dinner- (the meat part) and shrimp, and a boca burger all make great breakfast foods and set me up for a high protein day. Don't get bogged down thinking that all one can eat for breakfast is ordinary breakfast food- it gets old fast. You might try cream of wheat with a little splenda or "all fruit" jam and a little margerine if your tummy doesn't feel up to the challenge, but I am a a real fan of the softer meats and low fat gravies of the Healthy Choice and Smart Ones meals, and if you feel adventurous, the frozen cooked shrimp and a bit of cocktail sauce can start your day with a zing!

Hi! I ate lots of cottage cheese! Plain at first, then I added stuff like salsa, spagetti sauce, crushed crackers...Chicken broth went down easy. I know this sounds very weird, but I craved canned salmon and ate a lot of it! Its a wonder I did not smell like a fish! Thin sliced deli meats with small amounts of cheese with it went down well for me too. When I want to crunch on something I eat salty soy nuts..yumm! I will say that for what seemed like ages, I had a hard time finding something that seemed appealing. My tastes would change. I was nauseous a lot for few months and eating a sugar free popsicle first thing in morning seemed to help. Good luck !

Hi Debbie, me again. Just remember at first to follow directions from surgeon carefully. Depending on your surgery, you may or may not be eating solids for a while. I am not discouraging planning ahead, but what sounds good now might not later!!!Oh and tomatoes and green onions go good in cottage cheese later, after your pouch etc have recovered!!!!I did not attempt green onions until 10 months post op! Good luck!
