Question:
Was my RNY Bypass successful? hummm..I wonder
I had my RNY done in June, 2001. I have gone from 284 to 195. I have not lost a pound since late December, 01. I found that my pouch can not hold 8 ounces, since I can drink that amount of fluids at one time. Was my surgery a success? I had hoped to lost at least 100 pounds by my anniversary date. A part of me is so happy with my energy, health and appearance. However, that other part of me says "hey, you have a drastic surgical procedure performed, the results should be more impressive". Oh, I eat appropriatley, and get my water and protein in. What does my fellow long termers think? Should I have a one-on-one with my surgeron? Thanks Guys! Tonya — ellton (posted on May 9, 2002)

I'm just guessing you understand but it sounds more like you should talk to
your diatition. Sometimes some foods keep us from losing. NO MATTER WHAT
DIET YOU ARE ON IN THE WORLD..unless you burn more energy than calories you
consume you will gain or not lose. You've lost 89? lbs..thats nothing to
cry about!!!! Good luck!!! Hope you gt where you want to go!!

You can not judge the size of your pouch by how much fluid you can take in.
Liquids go right through. The way to 'test' your pouch size is called the
Cottage Cheese test. You start out with a measurable amount of cottage
cheese. Eat as much as you can comfortably eat in five minutes. Measure how
much cottage cheese is missing. This is your pouch size.
