Question:
I am 6 mos post op and going to Disneyworld in 12 days. Is it ok for me
to get a little "sun" through a tanning booth? I plan to put SPF 50 on my scar to protect it. I just want to keep from getting a sunburn in Orlando. I have never been to a tanning booth before. The salon encourages us to use suntanning lotion without a sunscreen to enhance the tan, what do you think? Thanks! — Marilyn C. (posted on April 30, 2002)

I have tanned for years at the first sine of summer. I am so pail if I dont
I will burn. I started tanning again when I was 3 months post-op. I just
fold a towel to cover my scar. It looks like a skunk strip around it but I
dont care. I use a tanning lotion every where else, it does help you to
tan. Best of luck, and have fun!

don't overdo it in the booth---start out with about 5 minutesper visit---I
did 10 my first time and had water blisters on my rear---that wasn't fun-
Florida sun---get a hat, shades, and some block called BullFrog--it is
waterproof--great for kids and adults

I am 9 weeks post. I have been tanning for 2 weeks and do not cover my
scar. I have a gorgeous tan and no problems.
