Question:
This is to people who have used thier machine for years....
After you had your surgery did you get to stop using your c pap machine or just turn down the pressure. If you did what was your pressure setting to begin with. — domestic G. (posted on March 20, 2002)

I used my C-Pap for about 5 yrs previous to my surgery. About 3 months post
op I quit using it. The pressure was way too high. My doctor said to try
sleeping with out it. I did- took getting used to at first. I am now 14
months post op and haven't used my C-Pap since. My husband says I don't
snore or stop breathing. Hope this helps!

I was a BIG chicken. Mine was at 15, so I borrowed my dh's at 10, mine was
lowered to 7.5 and his was lowered to 5 (for him), and I used 'em all the
way down. I was probably done after 6 months, but too scared to try it. HE
was done in 60 days.

I have been using mine for over 7 years. I am pre-op and plan on talking
to the pulmonologist about it. The thing is, having it set to the wrong
pressure can be just as bad as not using it at all.
