Question:
has anyone had a thigh lift?
I have been researching it and can't seem to find pictures of the scar that is left. I have wrinkly skin that slightly overlaps itself on one thigh. I am wondering if the surgery is worth it. I would love to hear anyone's opinion on a thigh lift and also if insurance paid for it, I would love to know all the details of what you submitted to them. I would also love to see pics if you have them or know where some are on the net. — cindy Q. (posted on March 17, 2002)

Funny how you should ask that today. Yesterday at our support group one of
our speakers was a plastic surgeon. He said the incision is usually made
near the groin where your leg meets your trunk. That way it is hidden in
the fold when you sit down. Sometimes they have to do it in other places
which are more obvious but for the most part he tries his best to hide it.
Hope this helps.

on this web site is a plastic surgeons ad on the opening page (there use to
be anyway!) and if you will click on that you can find pictures of before
and after. Now there isnt any prices or definitions of how the surgery is
done, but there is some info. Try plastic surgeons in your area for
websites also and most offer before and after. Hope this helps.

I will be watching to see if anyone can come up with pictures of the after
plastic surgery scars you mentioned. All of the sites I have seen with
pictures, while doing a fair job at showing the results of surgery, do not
show the resulting scars. I have seen several references to the scars left
after arm lift surgery, but have never seen a picture of what those scars
look like. I have seen pics of TT-type scars, but I haven't seen what the
thigh lift scars look like, either and I have looked in LOTS of places. I
find it really strange, but the pics shown of thigh lifts show a view of
the thighs almost exclusively from the sides or with the legs tightly
together. Most of us with thigh problems have much more of a problem in the
inner thigh at the top. I didn't see ONE clear picture of the inner thigh
area on the plastic surgeon's web site. I am thinking...now why is that???
The side views are nice, but do NOT tell the story. I want to see how that
loose, drapey, crepey-looking skin looks afterwards & what the scars
would look like. So I am with you on this question. Is there anyone willing
to share their post op scars with us hopeful pre-PS-ops???

I am having this surgery later this year...I will take digital pics before
and after, but I don't have a place to post them. But I will send them to
anyone who asks. Stay tuned and I will advise when they are available. I
can't wait to get rid of my walking waterbed leg skin!

I was curious so I typed "thigh lift pictures" into Google and
found the sites listed below. There are still no good pictures of the
scars, though. As I was looking, I read that the scars tend to stretch and
migrate after the surgery... they start out in the crease, but end up
moving down the leg a little in a lot of cases.

I had a thigh lift both inner and outer at the same time 10/12/2005. I
have scars from about 6 inches above my knee to the groin area and going
forward and backward in the groin area. Front scar goes from center of
groin areaup to high hair line. back scars go from center of groin area to
back of buttucks/leg crease. Outer thighs have horizontal scars about
8" long about 6" down on leg- this was done to remove
"saddlebags"
It was not all that painful, but using the toilet was a strain for about 2
weeks until stitches came out.
