Question:
Does any one have any good web sites to go to for healthy eating , recipes, ect
My surgery will be April 15, my surgeon would like me to lose some weight now and start trying to eat right and prepare meals. The only problem is I don't know how to cook that well. Last night as I was trying to play Betty Crocker and make stew it turned out all wrong and I ended up frying chicken. does anyone have any decent recipes that are high in protein, low in carbo's and sodium I can try? — Lovett (posted on March 12, 2002)

Allrecipes.com has a ton of recipes and you can sort them in a ton of
different ways. They have cooking light, low carb, and you can even sort
them by the type of meat that you have. The recipes are also rated by
people who have tried them and you can size them on the website to the
number of servings you need! Hope this helps!

Hi...there is a plethora of lo-fat, lo-cal, lo-carb, lo-everthing cookbooks
out there, but my absolute favorite is Cooking Light (the magazine and the
cookbooks). They have a huge variety of ethnic favorites, home cooking
favorites, etc. etc. all lightenend up to be delicious and healthy. Now, I
am not sure how these will do once I am post-op, so I have recently ordered
a lo-carb cookbook. Also, you can check Victoria Bowen's site, she has a
cookbook specifically designed for post-ops that she created herself. This
is a great question, and a tough issue because, for those of us who love to
cook, there will probably be a lot of wasted food post-op ;( Anyway, good
luck on your quest.
