Question:
are there any friendly doctors willing to refer in the bay area.

Looking for a doctor to refer me to a surgeon. I live in Richmond,Ca and will go as far as SanFrancisco area. I have Health Net Insurance and I think I have to be referred by a PCP    — TCP1918 B. (posted on March 8, 2002)

Without knowing what medical group you belong to, it's a bit hard to answer. I have Health Net, and am with the Brown & Toland medical group in San Francisco (which is where I work). My doctor, Damian Augustyn, is familiar with the procedure and refers as appropriate. I've heard excellent things about Arlene Keller, who also refers. There are several others in the Brown & Toland group, whose names escape me! -Kate-

Dr. Keller is my PCP and she is excellent. I switched to her after I had my surgery (RNY) so that I could be referred to the plastic surgeon I want. Dr. Keller is more familiar with the BPD/DS as there are 2 surgeons in her building that do that procedure, but she still understands what I've had done and is great. I would highly recommend Dr. Keller.
