Try tea (iced or hot) with Equal or Splenda...

There are so many atrificial sweeteners out there now. I have been using Stevia since my surgery. I also drink Crystal Light Raspberry Tea & Peach Tea every day. I didn't think I would like them since I was addicted to "real" tea. I love them and would be soooooo lost without them. I hope this helps!

Splenda is wonderful in cold drinks. I don't care for it in hot drinks, tho. For those I use just a small amount of real sugar. I have also tried ice water with just a splash of juice in it. I wouldn't have drank it before WLS but now it tastes good to me. Purple grape juice tastes really good to me because it is strong-tasting and turns the water a really nice shade of purple with a small amount. =) You might try making your tea with Splenda. It will probably taste great!

I love Crystal Light iced teas. I always have a pitcher in my fridge. You could make your own iced tea...or hot tea....using Splenda.

Forget sweet tea unless you use splenda. some people have something against Nutrasweet too, but I have nutrasweet chocolate syrup I mix with my Protien powder, and coffee to make a sort of Mochachino. I can eat a whole orange with no problem, so sugers from fruit should not be a concern. I do get a nasty feeling when drinking milk, but I am not sure if that is due to the sugers in it. I also was concerned about suger in OJ early postop, so I watered it down with water. The only thing you can do is try it, if you dump, or throw up, be mindful that you do not recreate the situation.

I drink one 8oz glass of OJ every morning when I get up. I'm paranoid about potassium because my doc does not allow potassium supps before 6 months post op. I haven't had any issues thus far and I am down 44lbs (280/236) in 6 weeks. I buy low acid, not from concentrate juice and I haven't had any problems so far. I don't have water problems, except first thing in the AM. This gets something liquid in me and gives me a potassium boost. I talked to my surgeon about this and he OK'd it as long as it was just once a day. Hope this helps.

I know what you are talking about with Crystal Lite! I can not tolerate oj either right now. Have you tried the Crystal Lite Ruby Red Grapefruit? It is good!! It taste fresh! On your ice tea...I love Lipton cold brew (DECAF) with Equal. Have you tried anything like that? Enjoy!

Being from the South, iced tea is a staple. I make mine with Splenda. My boyfriend, an avid "sweet" tea drinker, can't tell the difference.

I dilute all my juice with water... More like I sweeten my ice water with a splash of juice. OJ or Juicy juice Cherry/Berry is good. I hate the taste of Cystal Light and all the artificial sweeteners.

I use 6g of sugar per MEAL as a guide for good wt loss. You may or may not dump on that much, maybe your number is 4g, maybe 14g. I just use that as a guide. That's 6g per serving. So, for me, I could MAYBE have 1/4C OJ. Last one I checked was 24g for an 8 oz glass. Not worth it to me to gain, and 50/50 dilution wouldn't help enough. So, I just don't. There's a ton of good ideas here, though.
