Question:
I am a 64 year old male, 100 lbs. overwieght. Does age disqualify me for RNY?

Hey, Frank -- go for it! Many doctors will perform surgery on us oldsters
-- I'm 67 and have my physical tomorrow (last step to surgery) and I'm
expecting no problems. I had one doctor's nurse turn me down because it
was "too dangerous," but my PCP said, "Nonsense!"
Contact [email protected] about the ng for us oldsters from this site,
many of whom are post-op. C'mon in; the water is fine! Nina

I had my DS at 58. I noticed several folks on this site have had their RNY
paid for by Medicare. I don't think age is the ultimate deciding factor.
I would go ahead and talk to the surgeon and see what his criteria are.Good
Luck, Kathy
