Question:
have trouble with weight loss around the time of your period?
Im am almost 3 weeks post-op and have lost 25lbs. I lost all the weight in the first two weeks, and nothing since. I started one week earlier than usual and wonder if this effected my weight loss. I eat less than 500 cal a day mostly protien, and also walk twice a day. thanks — [Anonymous] (posted on October 22, 2001)

I am 10 weeks out and definetly noticed slower loss during the weeks of my
period. It was the same when I was on weight watchers so hang in there!

premenstral hunger ..... fortunately we are now forced to abide by our
stomach's wishes..... and not our hormones..... hang in there..... this too

I am 3 1/2 months post opp. you will find times when you don't have any
weight loss. Usually mine is about a week before that time. The way I
have heard it when you are losing inches you don't lose pounds. You will
lose pounds when you are not losing as many inches. Don't get too upset
when you don't see any weight loss. You will start to lose again in a week
or two.

I'm consistently finding that as I approach my cycle each month, I actually
*gain* weight as my feet and calves swell up even further than usual. The
good news, though, is that once my cycle has ended and that menstrual cycle
fluid is gone, the scale shows a big loss.

You know it doesn't seem to me that you are eating enough calories. Maybe
try to up them a little bit. Remember you need lots of protien!!!
