Question:
Did your ins co deny request for surgery twice and then approve the third time?

I have BCBS and wls is covered but I was denied twice. Were you also denied twice but then approved the third time? Did you do something additional to ensure approval? I'm just looking for some glimmer of hope, or maybe I'm fooling myself that there's a possibility they'll approve me this time.    — dandjon (posted on June 8, 2001)

I fought BC/BS for months regarding coverage of an abdominoplasty. After three appeals and an attorney's intervention, I won. It cost me a few bucks, but I knew I could prove medical necessity and that's all my policy required for approval. Don't give up if you are within your rights. Best wishes.
