Question:
Getting In Network Benefits Paid

Jeannie, usually plan doctors perform services at an agreed upon rate with
the insurance companies. Since your Dr. is out of plan, he does not have
to accept the agreed upon amount and maybe that is where the $5700.00 comes
in to play. It is above and beyond that fee. Have you checked with your
plan to see if they will cover a doctor out of plan? Can they refer to you
to one since they DID approve the surgery? I have heard Aetna is supposed
to be pretty good to deal with. If your Dr. will not budge on the cost,
will he accept payments? Good luck...
