Question:
Will I still need a seat belt extender on an airplane?
Hey guys, I come here alot for great support and information. I am going ot be goingto Las Vegas in about 3 weeks. We are flying. I ahve lost about 65-75 pounds and now weigh about 325. My question is, will I be able to fit in an airplane seat? I have heard of seatbelt extenders but have not flown since I was a child. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance... — [Anonymous] (posted on February 16, 2001)

I have been on a variety of different airlines and they all have seatbelt
extenders. Just ask the flight attendent as you get on and she can
discreetly hand you one before take off.

I travel alot, and am 5'4", 250lbs but carry alot around the middle
and butt. I come very, very close to needing an extender, but it depends
on the airline and the age of the plane. The newer models seem to have
smaller EVERYTHING! Good luck!

Traveled a bit and every time asked for an extender...The
stewardess/steward were always very quite about it....on my last trip(on my
way home from surgery) was not embaressed in fact I told the stewardess it
would be the last time I would ever need one...told her why and she thought
that was very exciting...ALSO...3 other people had to use an extender on
the same flight so don't think you are the only one(like I did).
