Question:
Who pays for this surgery?

My PCP said that I am a candidate, but that the 'group' probably wouldn't approve me I though CIGNA paid. I think she must be on the board of directors of the group, she was very discouraging. She said she will give them a call though. Should I be worried? I have HMO/PPO/POS so she feels I should pay 20% and do it as a POS patient. I don't have the $$ , so wanted to do it thru the HMO side. Help, I need encouragment thanks all, this is the BEST site    — kit J. (posted on January 21, 2000)

I would recommend going through the PPO side of your insurance..You will have a better chance of it..

I disagree -- with Blue Cross it appears that the HMO approves more wls than the PPO, and the opposite is true with the tummy tucks.
