Question:
Does Prudential HMO in Fl. cover surgery?
I now have Avmed, and have been told it will not cover the surgery so I need to change. I've heard that Prudential (which is now Aetna) is very good. They have several plans and I wasn't sure which one I should get. I would prefer to get the HMO because it's less expensive, but has anyone been approved by them? What about the PPO or POS? I would have to pay 20% with those, from what I understand. Anyone that could help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tess [email protected] — Theresa S. (posted on October 3, 1999)

Hi. I currently have Prudential HMO of Florida. They are privately
contracted to do the surgery with Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
I had Distal RNY on May 26th with Dr. Michael P. Hocking who is a wonderful
man. I have lost 100lbs since my surgery. I highly recommend him and his
wonderful staff! Best wishes! Please email me if you have any questions.
My home address is [email protected]
Your in my thoughts and prayers!

I have Prudential HMO in NJ, and I know a lady who has Prudential HMO in
Texas, and both of us were approved immediately over the phone. I hope
it's just as easy in Florida.
