I have been doing this safely for several years. I asked my surgeon about it and he was amused at the concept, but just shrugged and said "whatever". You know how MD's are about ND stuff....... So no big deal, as I do it when I have time and funds.

I've been wondering this myself. Michelle, do you have to tell the technician that you've had a stomach reduction?

The way ours works is that I must see the ND before I see the tech. So, I took op reports, sketch of surgery and most recent labs with me for first visit. They did point out that I diodn't really NEED surgery if I just ate "right" (no wheat, etc), but it's really kind of moot now, isn't it? So, we don't see eye to eye on everything there, but the small intestine arrangement should not have anything to do with the colon. However, it does make interesting discussion matter during the procedure! LOL! I've been doing it since 2001, I think (surgery was 1994), as I said, when insured or I have funds, whichever.

Why not just eat more of fiber what is a colon cleansing going to do? I don't believe in putting anything up my butt it's not natural.

Respectfully in answer to just doing more fiber........ sometimes fiber is not the issue. In my case, I have actual diagnosed IBS, as seen during colonoscopy. The colon does not move in a natural wave-like motion, but acts more like the agitator in a washing machine. So, diet doesn't have much impact on this type, as it is considered more of an "electrical problem". However, the fact remains that the colon needs to be kept functional. You're so right that hydrotherapy is not natural, however, neither is the condition which might make it helpful. Medicine by injection isn't natural, either, such as insuling but if a body part is failing, sometimes we need a little extra help. I wish it was otherwise and certainly wish fiber or other dietary changes I tried had done the job, but it took 9 yrs of changing things to find that NOTHING *I* did was ever GOING to help.
