Question:
Question about your body texture post op.
Hello All. I'm 9 weeks post op. My body is 'sqishy' all over. Did everyone experience this? I've always been big and firm. Perhaps the fat is preparing to be released??? It just feels weird. When I've lost weight in the past I don't remember getting 'squishy' all over. ?. Any thoughts?? — Kimberly J. (posted on September 21, 2003)

Hi,
I am 4 months post-op and noticed the same thing starting about 2 months
ago. I think the fat is already going and the skin is not so full.
Probably when you lost weight before you did not lose it so fast. I know
what you mean about it feeling strange though. Remember to exercise so you
will build muscles to hold up the "sag" as much as it can. Best
of luck to you.

Kimberly, I am so glad you asked this. I thought is was just me. I am not
crazy about feeling like a marshmallow. My upper thighs and upper arms
seem to be the worst. I keep reminding myself that I would rather have the
squishy skin than the fat. It is a very weird feeling though as my body
feels so different. I am very far from goal (188 pounds) so no telling
what it will be like in two years. I suppose only time will tell.

Original poster- Thanks guys! At nine weeks, if this is the beginning of my
excess skin already...I'm going to be in trouble- I need to lose about 150
more pounds! I better start saving for plastic surgery. Yes Ann, it's
mainly my upper arms and thighs as well. Thanks for the feedback!

Kimberly! At one year out, down 160lbs, my kids love to touch me now 'cause
I'm so squishy! I'd say that my thighs and arms feel and move like jello in
an anti-gravity room...LOVELY - and oh, so sexy!!! Weird is definately the
word for it!!
