Question:
Anyone had a colon resection prior to surgery?

I am just curious if anyone has had a colon resection prior to suryery. I had one in 1996, and want to make sure it wont stop me from having surgery.    — Sandy S. (posted on September 13, 2003)

This is a common question at our support group. Its no problem since the colon is the lower bowell and WLS is the small intestine and stomach. Shouldnt be a problem, except adhesions might lenghten surgery time, that occured to me a leftover of my appendectomy from many years ago.

i had bowel resection due to a bowel obstruction in 2002. I had rny in 2003.

I have a friend who had this and had no trouble getting the DS. And she's had no troubles post op.
