We all need a pat on the back for doing what we did and now we can really enjoy life!!! I am really going to be wearing a swimsuit this summer for the 1st time in my life!!! I wish I would of did this sooner. — Lisa J. (posted on June 3, 2003)

I'm 3 years out and my fantasy for such a long time is to go to my high
school reunion looking great. I did only once when I lost 80 pounds. I
wanna knock em dead and plan to this August!

Surgery scheduled 6/10/03 ... what I'm looking forward to this summer is
the following: 1) being able to breathe outside in the hot humid air
without gasping and panting like a fish out of water, 2) hopefully not
sweating enough each day to fill a 5-gallon bucket, and 3) a diminishing of
those rashes that love to nestle in amongst all my many folds and flabs.
One day, maybe I'll even arrive at the point where I LIKE summer! ;)

weeks from today that my fantacy this summer includes having a
non-complicated recovery......however my fantacy for next summer??? I live
in San Diego so I want to take advantage of being this close to the beach,
and I want to wear a lot of tank tops without regret!

My summer fantasy is for it to pass as quickly as possible, since my
surgery isn't til August 19th...(((SIGH))) Oh well, God willing, this will
be my last summer that I ever feel like this! My fantasy for NEXT summer
is to go to amusement parks, be able to ride the rides and fit comfortably
in them, and be able to walk around the parks without excruciating pain!

I am still post-op, but for me, this summer is to get my surgery done
before the end of summer, that way next summer I can do the things that I
have longed to do all my life...:) Good luck to all.

Going for evening walks with my kids - already started. Biking with
them...swimming, moving. Anything besides just sitting and sweating like
I've done for decades!

Great post!! I am looking forward to riding a bike (I haven't done that in
years!) taking my kids to a water park... and, playing with them in the
water! Wearing cute summer clothes... shorts, light dresses, sleevless
stuff! You know what.... I am just looking forward to having fun in the sun
without dying from the hear!!! Have a great day!

I haven't had surgery yet, but I want to be able to go fishing at the coast
or out on the boat here at a local lake. Enjoy a picnic maybe go to the
zoo. Mostly to not sweat profusely even in Im indoors with the air
conditioning. Maureen

I'm 11 months post op and down 118 (or 144 from highest). My hubby had
surgery 2 weeks ago so it's actually next summer I'm looking forward to and
being able to go to festivals. I love live music and it's just been too hot
and too much walking in the past. My big excitment right now is that I
bought pantyhose at WALGREENS!!!! How cool is that!! I bought underpants at
Costco!!! I'm going to Walmart to buy some shorts!!! (My DD thinks I'm so
silly "Oh wow, shopping at Walmart") OK so they are size 24 but
it's not Lane Bryant or a catalog. Yeah!!! I'm also looking forward to
being warm. My hubby has turned the heat back on. It's 70 degrees out and
he's freezing. It's made me realize I'm no longer as cold as I was
immediately post op but I don't roast like I did pre op. Yeah summer!!!!

I want to run! I have never, ever, been able to run without feeling like
my lungs were on fire from being out of breath (at least past the time when
I was a little kid)! I still have a long way to go, but sometimes, at
night, when no one can really see me, I run with my dog (Rottweiler) and I
can go a short distance and not be even breathing hard! Also, I want to
walk in the community July 4th parade with the Music Boosters. The parade
ends by going up a long, steep hill. I rode on the bus last year. (Another
woman in our group tried it and had to have a little assistance from the
paramedics at the end - she was having heat exhaustion!)

I guess I also enjoy one more thing for summer and that is to ride bike and
NOT have my butt swallow the seat.....!!!!!

What a fun question! My husband is into old cars and we go to a weekend
car show in Vermont in a couple of weeks. It's in a beautiful setting, and
I'm looking forward to walking around comfortably, even if it's hot. The
town also has a lot of factory outlets, and it has been my fantasy for
years to actually be able to buy clothes in them--this year I can! It's a
dream come true.

Although I still have a long way to goal, I am looking forward to Labor Day
weekend. I am currently three months out and down 50 pounds, I am looking
forward to it because it is my daughter's birthday and we always have
friends that I do not get to see often come. They are going to be in
shock! I cannot wait. I am hoping to be down another 40 pounds.
I also am going to Cedar Point in August and hoping to be able to ride the
rides with my 10 year old son.
