Question:
Why is it so hard to fax information?
My PCP has faxed information over to my doctors office 3 times and they say they haven't received it. I've even given the number to my PCP 2 out of the 3 times. It's on the sheet that they fax! It has been a month now and all I'm trying to do is get my Psychologist and Nutritionist appointments. What should I do? Please help!!! — Heidi S. (posted on June 2, 2003)

Its always a good idea to get copies of EVERYTHING, and keep one for
yourself. This way if something gets lost you can fax it to whoever needs
it. GFaxes get lost all the time. My business fax gets stuff it shouldnt at
least once a month. All sent in error.

I trusted no one, I took copies of any letters with me, to my surgeon's
office.

I never trust faxing, especially if it's to a busy office. Hand delivery
or mailing Return Receipt Requested are the only ways to go. And it's
absolutely imperitive to keep your own copy of whatever is being given out.
We all should have a current copy of our entire medical record in our
possession. Hugs, Joy

This seems like plain-old human error. I'd get a copy and hand delivery
them if it was me!
