Question:
What is causing this pain, part II

What could be causing pain in the pouch that feels like a fist size lump of dull pain. Once it go worse until it felt like a knife? It is accompanied by gas, and gets better when I take Nexium (like Prilosic). This hurts as soon as I start eating (unless I take nexxium first) and even sometimes when I drink. <br> I don't think this is from eating to much or too fast or food is stuck: I already know the pain this causes. I find papaya enzyme helps those problems, but not the problem I've been having.    — Beth S. (posted on March 24, 2003)

Sounds like you may getting gas bubbles. You didn't say how far out you are, but this is very common in the first few weeks after surgery. I would still contact your surgeon or their nurse to be sure....Karen (lap rny- 6 months post-op and down 119 pounds!)
