Question:
Has anyone dealt with United Health Care for Railroad Employees
I currently have UHC Options PPO through the BNSF railraod. Has anyone dealt with them and how was your experience? I am just wondering so I have all my ducks in a row to get qualified. Thanks for your help in advance :) — laura J. (posted on February 5, 2003)

Hi Laura - My wls was approved in about a week from UHC Select POS through
the railroad. I had no problem with them whatsoever. In fact, because
Bariatric Treatment Center, where I went, is out-of-network, I expected to
have to pay my max out of pocket expense of $1500.00, but at the time the
bill was presented, UHC negotiated it down a few thousand dollars, which
BTC happily agreed to, and I didn't have to pay a thing. Thus far UHC has
been marvelous. Now I'm waiting for approval for a tummy tuck, so
hopefully they'll be just as good as they were for wls. Good luck!

I also have UHC Select POS through the railroad. They approved me in 2
weeks. I feel blessed to have such a good company and feel for the people
that have to work so hard to get approved.
