What is a stricture?

Kristi, a stricture is when the stoma (the opening from the pouch to the
intestines) tightens up. I had one this week, the dr. had to do an
endoscope and stretch it open with a baloon. I could not keep anything
down, even liquids, this lasted from last Sat. evening, until the scope on
Tuesday. It is not painful, except if you try to eat/drink anything. The
scope is not painful either, and I was able to drink a glass of water after
I woke up, and later at home was able to eat something.
