GALLBLADDER. Doesn't always matter what you eat. Pain comes from no where, and nothing YOU can do to make it subside. Then, all of the sudden, you're normal and you even question yourself if the pain was all that you remembered!? Go to your surgeon, or PCP, and ask to get an ultrasound of your GB. Now- if you had your GB removed, I truly do not know what to tell you..... still start with Surgeon or PCP.

Ann, whatever you do, you have to drink water. If you drink water and have pain, call the doctor or go to the ER, but if you don't drink your water, whatever problem you have will only be compounded by dehydration.

Just an FYI - beans (legumes) and juices tend to cause gas. I don't know if you've had an RNY or DS or what, but if it's the RNY, I hear the gas pains tend to be excrutiating if you are prone to gas. Luckily I'm not, but even still I get some pain from it.

I am almost 5 weeks post op and have had a lot of trouble with gas no matter what I eat. I take GasX or Phazyme and Pepcid after a meal and it has helped alot. My dr says I can take 2 Pepcid at a time. I hope this helps.

Writhing in pain in the middle of the night is a terrible thing. Please talk to your surgeon. If it happens again, go to the ER right away. They can give you pain medication and will usually send you for tests right away. Good luck and God bless!

Ann, Another person posted this.....but GAS!!!! Might have been from the garbanzo beans. Sometimes when I get gas that is trapped, the pain is horrendous. You feel like you are dying. GasX or any other product with Simethicone in it will help alleviate the symptoms. If they persist, you should call your doctor. Hang in there hon!! Hugs, Kathie (in Hawaii)..........
