Hi: I am a patient of Dr. Liem's. I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow,
July 18. I like the doctor very well. He's soft spoken, doesn't seem to
get rattled very easily. His staff is another subject entirely. I have
called his office probably 5 or 6 times, and EVERY single time, I hear
"Hold on, I can't find your chart." When I went for my last
visit pre-op on Monday, they couldn't find my chart. On my first visit, in
March, I was given a piece of paper with all the things I would have to get
done pre-op, as well as a list of instructions. I don't have a clue what I
did with the paper. I was taking asprin every day for my heart, and didn't
know I was to stop taking them 2 weeks before surgery. I have to have my
blood drawn again today. If my clotting factor is still out of range, my
surgery will be canceled. Nobody mentioned to me that the doctors at JFK
Hospital would be on strike yesterday. When it was on the news I was
getting a little crazy. It was only for one day, but Dr. Liem could have
mentioned it in advance.

I am a patient of Dr. Liem's. I had surgery 10/12/01 and am doing great. I
have only good things to say about Dr. Liem. His office staff is overly
busy and can be a little impersonal at times. I just overlooked that, Dr.
Liem will be doing the surgery, not them! Hope to meet you at the support
group meetings!

I am a patient of Dr. Liem's. I had the surgery 23 months ago and have
lost 334 pounds. Dr. Liem has been doing bariatric surgery for over 20
years and has never had a leak or lost a patient. He is very good at what
he does. If you call his office they will give you my phone number and you
can call me anytime. They have a pre-op seminar on the 2nd Monday of every
month at 6 pm at JFK Hospital. There are always several post ops there
that will be more than happy to talk to you. Your Weight Loss Pal,
