Question:
Here's the DUMBEST question anyone has ever asked.....

I'm 50 years old, 4 months post op, down 61+ pounds, feeling great...AND..I never had a wrinkle pre op. Now, the most noticeable place I'm wrinkling are my poor little hard working hands and my neck. My hands look like they belong to an 80 year old woman. Here's my question: My skin is so dry (I will attribute some of that to the harsh winter weather) but are my organs on the inside drying up as much as I am on the outside? I'm drinking, sipping, drinking, sipping and altho I have never actually measured my liquid intake, I'm there at 64 oz. daily. I'm worried about my innards....is this crazy?    — blank first name B. Carolyn, I doubt that your innards are drying up inside, although I can't say that for sure. What I wonder though, is are you eating a little bit of fat every day. I don't mean a lot. I mean a teaspoon of real mayo, or butter, or oil. Your body needs fat to help keep things working and it also needs it to keep your hair and skin from drying out.

Carol. Iam doing the same thing, my skin is so dry,I HAVE BEEN PUTTING LOTION ON 2 TIMES A DAY AND STILL my hands and neck area are so wrinkled.I'm 55 and have lost 80 pounds in 4 mo.Iam so worried that all this stretched out skin will not go back in shape.I BEEN REALLY COVERING MY SELF IN LOTIONS BUT IT IS PROBABLY NOT DOING ANY GOOD. GOOD LUCK, Nancy m.

You're taking your protein supps, 2? 3? times a day. You're drinking water faithfully. Are you taking dry vit E? How many? And are you avoiding fats & oils? ALL of them? Or are you allowing the healhty ones to get in?

Hi Carolyn, congrats on your weight loss. I am too out 4 months and down 63 lbs. We are right there together! Anyway, on the dry skin issue. I have had the opposite happen to me as far as the dry skin, my face is so smooth, nails are so healthy, even my calloused heels are getting smoother by the day. What I attribute this to is not limiting my fat. I don't enjoy fried foods anymore, good thing, but I do add mayo to a burger, and butter to veggies, etc. Remember we do need fat to be healthy and we do malabsorb fat, so don't try to eat a low-fat diet, then you wouldn't be getting *any* fat. I have always wondered why I see people talking about low fat this and that. And low fat mayo and dressings have MORE sugar in them anyway. And you will have some wrinkling from losing the fat that puffed us up in the first place (like the prev poster mentioned). But even with the wrinkles, we will still look healthier!

At night before going to bed, lather on vaseline and the put one some cotton gloves or even socks work. It makes a huge difference for my hands. Hope it works for you!!!

My hands have been terribly dry and sore this winter and I live in Arizona so I can't blame it on the weather! I've tried every lotion under the sun and the one that works the best for me is Neutorgena Hand Cream Norwegian Formula. You only use a little bit and after the first time I used it my hands felt better immediately and they stayed that way - most other lotions made my hands feel better for a few minutes at best.
