I am not sure about Dr. Newhoff... but I can tell you one thing. If I lived
near Phx.. Dr. Terry Simpson would be my choice by far.. what an
outstanding man. Good luck!

i am a patient of dr newhoff's. my surgery was 12/18/01. the man truly has
magic hands to go along with his 30 years of experience. he is also the
trauma surgeon on call at good sam. he sews u back up from the inside with
dissolving sutures. i have had many surgeries over the years & this
scar is by far the best looking one i have. no railroad tracks. he has also
saved my life with his keen insight. check my profile for the story on my
liver. there r others on this site that r his patients too & i know
they feel the same way about him as i do. im sure u will be hearing from
them. in fact, one was my angel, & now i am an angel for another
patient of his. his office staff is phenominal! especially cindi. she has
been bending over backwards for me in relation to my liver problem, sending
faxes & reports as soon as i ask & to wherever & who ever i
ask. i think u have made the right choice.

I am a patient of Dr. Newhoff and can't say enough good things about him.
He is an excellent surgeon who really cares about his patients. I was going
to meet with the other doctors in town but canceled after I met Dr. Newhoff
as I knew he was the surgeon for me. His experience in doing wls as well as
being a trauma surgeon really impressed me. I am a Phoenix native and felt
extremely comfortable having my surgery at Good Sam - it has been my
families hospital of choice for over 40 years (I was even born there). Dr.
Newhoff does not use stapes to close the incision. I would be happy to
answer any specific questions you may have if you would like to email me
privately.

I am also a patient of Dr. Newhoff. I am 6months post op as of today
actually. Dr Newhoff definetly knows what he is doing. he is very busy due
to the fact that he is also a trauma surgeon. Sometimes I get the feeling
that he doesn't have time for me when I see him but I know he does, he is
just really busy. His office staff is great. Have you been to one of his
seminars? Have you submitted you info through weight for life? ( they are a
pain) Have you been to a support group yet? they are held at Good Sam two
Monday's out of the month. There, alot of people who are considering
surgery, post op, and who are waiting to have surgery it is a great place
to go and talk and ask guestions if you have any. I can send you the
schedule if you like. I am 23 years old and lost 85lbs. I would love to
talk to me more email me if you want to chat. [email protected]

Dr. Newhoff is an excellent surgeon.
I had teh same procedure done in 2001.
He retired in 2007,I think. Dr. Eric
Schlessinger in Tempe, AZ is currently
taking his patients. Dr. Stephen Simon
who was Newhoff's partner is not doing
gastric bypass surgery any longer.
I have heard that there have been
problems with the silastic ring that
Newhoff put in bottom of our pouches.
Dr. Schlessinger's office told me that
many have to be removed as they have
eroded. He is so busy that they will
tell you what tests that can be ordered
by your family Dr. prior tomaking an
appointment with him, if there is a problem.
I have good days and bad days with my stomach
currently, and it is very picky about what
food I can eat, or it will reject it.
Is anyone else having this problem?
