Question:
Has anyone experienced being able to eat a whole lot more during their cycle?
I have found that during my cycle, (about a week before my period starts), I can eat almost anything and everything, at a much greater volume. I'm scared I've stretched out my pouch. (Although last month, it did the same thing, but eventually I went back to eating small amounts), but it still scares me. — Jennifer J. (posted on November 5, 2001)

Yep. I was very irregular prior to surgery and now my period starts every
28-30 days. Since I never knew when it was coming I always thought
something was wrong when I felt like I could eat all day. Then my period
would show up a couple days later. During my cycle, my appetite usually
goes away. Then towards the end it picks up again. Then afterwards it's
back to "normal". Good luck and God Bless!

I am so glad you asked this. I was afraid to tell anyone for fear someone
would say "you're stretching your pouch". But, I quit when
I"m satisfied and I wasn't satisfied on smaller amounts for the first
week before my period. Thank God I'm not alone!

Oh hell yeah, during "that time" I can chow down with the best of
'em! But then all of a sudden, one day I go right back to only being able
to eat normal, small amounts. I don't worry about it. I've kind of
adopted the attitude that if I'm craving something, there is a reason and
it's ok to eat it, in moderation. (I usually crave normal foods, no candy
or anything.) I wouldn't be concerned, it's totally normal. Best of luck

YES! YES! YES! I am so glad someone posted this, because around the time
of my period I feel like I can eat a ton more. I didn't want to post
because I thought I was just a freak.

Well thank GOD!! Thank you guys for making me feel so much better!! I was
worried there for a second. I actually had a f/u appt with my surgeon
today, and he explained to me that it was my hormones, which relax my
stomach and allow me to eat more, and that it is perfectly normal and will
always go away. Yippee!! Thanks again everyone, and God bless you all. :)

THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
I have been feeling so guilty for the last 3 days, eating more often and
wanting more, but at least still eating the same good things. This is the
first month since surgery (6 mos postop) that I have noticed this. I have
been feeling so bad, but feel ever so much better now!! Thanks for posting
your question.

I am the exact opposite. Presurgery I would eat anything and frequently
during my period. Now, I throw most things up during that time. Luckily,
I'm at menopauses doorstep and the period is actually getting shorter.
