Question:
Could you use compression shorts instead of a binder.?

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish.. Compression shorts are
usually for Groin Pulls, Ham String Pulls, Low back pain, support when
exercising also.. The main reason for binders is to keep from pulling or
stress applied to incisions. Binders are usually Velcro and easy on and
easy off in a wrap method. Most compression shorts are pull on
(difficult to maneuver if you have a long incision especially if dressing
or JP drains are attached) some have side or front zippers that although
make it easier to pull on, the zipper made bother some. For that reason
binders are the choice by most surgeons post-op.. Once I am healed from
my open incision my surgeon said I could switch to compression type
garments like "all in ones" corset type garments.. Hope this
