Question:
What are the names of anti-inflammatories that can be taken after an RNY?
I have heard there are some that are not NSAIDS or aspirin dirivities. Thanks for your help. — Rosanne O. (posted on September 13, 2000)

My surgeon allows Celebrex. Since this is by prescription you will need to
discuss this with your doctor.

My surgeon said the Celebrex I am presently taking is fine for after
surgery, just take it before/with a meal (at the same time).

I just went through this with a knee strain! My surgeon said
no to long term steroids like prednisone, but if taken for a week
it would be ok. I ended up on Vioxx for about 10 days and it
worked for me. I agree you should check anything out with your surgeon!
