Question:
Does anyone have experience with Prudential Custom Care?
I'm a Southwestern Bell Telephone employee and this is our primary plan. The insurers list states it's "excluded", plain & simple. I know there's a whole lotta Bell employees out there, any input? — carey M. (posted on July 17, 2000)

Carey, I went online and looked in the plan and it specifically states that
it will cover commonly accepted procedures. My letter went in the first
week of July and I haven't heard anything yet. I am planning to fight this
will all my might if I have to or change to one of our other plans. They
pay more out on me per month for my co-morbidities than they would with
surgery over the long term. Hang in there and lets fight them. Let me
know where you read the exclusion. If you go on our intranet site you can
read the plan that I read. Kelly

Carey, I couldn't find the reference online but I did the next best thing
and I called customcare (and they were there at 6:45 pm). They said that
this surgery is not an exclusion but it does require pre-certification (but
so does every other surgery). So depending upon medical necessity, we
should have a chance. Feel free to email me at home or work. You can look
me up in phone and call too. Take care
