Darla, I am 4 wks post op. {Open RNY.} I've had 4 C-sections
Immediatly following surgery, the pain of RNY is quite similar to that of a
C-section. However, For me the recovery seems alot quicker. I remember not
being able to lay on my stomach or side for about 6-8 wks after a C-section
{felt like everything was "sloshing" to the side} Since RNY, I've
been sleeping on my side and stomach now for about 2wks. By the way, my
incision runs from my breastbone to my navel {about 7 1/2 inches} I was
fortunate enough not to have a drain tube or staples. They just stitched
the inside of the incision and taped the outside.
Good luck!! A month from now you will be so happy! Good Luck... Dani
