Question:
Please help me say goodbye to GAS!!!

Anything I can get over the counter to alleviate my gas (not belching, if you know what I mean). Please don't tell me what to change in my diet, I've tried it all. I'm almost 2 yrs post op and this is the worst and most annoying side-affect. Thanks!    — Robby E. (posted on February 24, 2004)

One of my good friends is 3 yrs post-op and she swears by "Gas-X".. They are chewable and work rather quickly...

Oh my goodness, this post hits so close to home. I was just thinking the other day how I do not remember being so "gassy" before my WLS (I'm over 2 years out). I just recently started taking Gas-X, so, I'm not sure if it really works or not. I'm hoping someone has a better suggestion!

If you have tried everything I am assuming you already use Gas-X, try Devrom....it is at the parthenon inc, it doesn't eliminate the gas but it takes away the smell. They send samples and it really works. It was originally for colostomy(sp)bags, they have the oral tablets for the gastric patients. Good Luck!

I started getting killer gas at about 6 months post op and nothing would help. I have figured out why...I have a severe overgrowth of yeast that grew in my intestines. Now that I am taking probiotics and other things to control my yeast, Things have gotten allot better.

I started using the Devrom about a month ago also. Made a big difference. Now, even if I do have gas, the horrible smell is gone. It's worth a shot. Best of luck, Kathy Open RNY 2/10/03 215/123/120

Can anyone please tell me if the Devrom capsule is supposed to be taken before eating, during, or after. I am using it but still have horrid smelling gas.
